Saw your product while visiting a friend. When I asked what this is, I was told: none of your business just see and enjoy! They invited us to see what we do not know about.

What a special moment it was!
"I want to thank you for making the wedding an enchanted land, we had a famous singer and music band, we were asked to shut off the lights again so the people can see your wonderful fire flies.
We did shut lights off the first time for candles and your indoor XC-24 units which was installed easily on the flower bouquets, the center pieces, ceiling and the wedding canopy for few minutes, guess what, the second time, even the singer asked for the lights to shut off, Completely this time.

I can not be fair, or able to describe enough the atmosphere it created to the point where the people asked us to do it again to shut off the lights to watch your fire flies at work, amazing is very short word. "I purchased a competitive unit to the Enchanted Firefly product and found that, even though it cost about the same, the Enchanted Firefly is a much superior product. The Enchanted Firefly has more lights and a more dynamic display. It looks like a swarm of active fireflies instead of an occasional solitary firefly or two lazily lighting up.

As an engineer, curiosity got the better of me and I decided to take apart the competitive unit and see how it was built. It was immediately apparent that it had been originally designed for an entirely different purpose, but then modified to make it a "firefly" device. The Enchanted Firefly is designed solely as a firefly display -- it never had any other purpose in life!

The Enchanted Firefly uses a photocell to detect daylight and turn off the unit so it doesn't run unnecessarily during the daytime. The competitive unit had a photocell, but it was not connected! The competitive unit ran 24 hours per day, even during the daytime when the "fireflies" can't be seen!

The electronic circuit of the competitive unit seemed to have been rather amateurishly designed. Rather than merely disconnecting the power, the "reset button" removed power from the circuit by shorting out the battery! If someone were to inadvertently replace the original batteries with NiCADs, this could be downright dangerous. Pressing the reset button could cause a fire!

The competitive unit didn't utilize any kind of regulation of the power delivered to the lights in its circuit. While it worked fine in the mild weather I had when I tested it, I wonder if the lights wouldn't get overly dim or bright in more extreme weather conditions. The Enchanted Firefly circuit has regulation on each individual light, minimizing such variation.

All-in-all, I'd say the Enchanted Firefly is definitely a technically superior product. My wife and kids just says it's prettier.

In about 10 minutes, you can install the lights yourself. Twist-ties can attach the lights to whatever suits your imagination. You can simply tie the light end on a branch, with about 4 inches hanging, so the flexible Stems move when the wind blows. After you have done that, plug the connector into the eFireFlies Unit XP solar panel in the back and at sundown, the photocell will automatically engage the light show. Plug-and Play, it’s that simple! Want to get that party started before sunset? Cover the eFireFlies Unit XP solar photo cell and it goes off(you can use a paper bag to cover the solar unit). Please see our user-friendly manual for more details. With the eFireFlies indoor Unit XC AC/DC/ & Mobile battery powered model, once the transformer is plugged into a wall outlet, your show goes 24/7/365. When the rechargeable batteries are charged, you can unplug the unit from the charger connector and move the eFireFlies anywhere you want. A tip: you can buy an extra set of eFireFlies wires, and then all you have to do is plug the wire connector to the mobile XC or the XP units, and let it amaze you. Rather than moving all stems and installing them else where.

You are provided Two. One option is to attach an adjustable bracket to the back of the solar panel. A garden spike slips into the bracket, which in turn can be driven into soft soil and adjusted toward the sunlight. Your second option is to attach the adjustable wall mount bracket. You can mount it on any horizontal or vertical surface then aim your eFireFlies Unit XP solar panel toward the sun. It also acts as a Theft Deterrant when mounted on high surfaces. We provided 2 screws & 2 anchors.

No. However, indirect exposure for (6) to (8) hours per day is suggested. You should install your eFireFlies Unit XP solar panel oriented towards maximum sun exposure.

We include three AA high capacity, long life, and rechargeable nickel metal hydride (NiMH) batteries. You can charge and discharge these batteries over and over again for about one year. After that, we recommend using high quality AA rechargeable batteries such as ours (offered at web site). You can use alkaline batteries as well, but they are more Expensive in the long run and will end up in a landfill within days. Most electronic stores now accept NiMH batteries for recycling. At the end of the batterys life cycle, please do your part for our environment and dispose of it properly. We recommend using our batteries from the website, since we have tested them.
